Soldering Brass Fittings for Durable Connections - MGF Tools

Brazing Fittings

Brass fittings are typically joined using brazing or soldering rather than traditional welding. In brazing, a silver-based alloy or copper-phosphorus filler is melted at high temperatures (above 450°C) to create a strong bond between the brass fitting and the pipe. A tin-based solder is used at lower temperatures, often with flux, to remove oxidation. These processes are ideal for HVAC, plumbing, and refrigeration systems, providing durable and corrosion-resistant connections.
